Recent Makeup and Fashion purchases.

I have been feeling very spendy recently so I thought I would include a few of the things I have brought recently. Perhaps my favourite purchases has been these black boots with a tortoise block heel. I have been looking at getting this style of boot for ages and when I saw the you-tuber Lucy Flight snapchat about them I was so eager to pick them up. I ordered them from the website simmi where at the time there was 20% of with student discount. I think I paid around £30 for them including postage, the delivery was super fast and the fit of these is great! the second pair of shoes I have purchases are a pair of pointed black heels from ASOS. I already have these in the nude colour so when I saw these were on sale for £12.50 I had to have them. I will admit they are proving hard to wear in and I haven't actually managed to pluck up the courage to wear them out yet just because they are still uncomfortable. But i love the style of them so much.

In the last month of so I have been obsessed with picking up false eyelashes. I have been trying out lots of different brands and styles. I managed to pick these Eylure lashes in the sale and they are such a natural pair.
The next item is actually something that I always repurchase; MAC pro-longwear concealer which i pick up in NC15. I love this concealer so much,  I use it to highlight and conceal my under-eyes because it is light enough.
Finally we get onto two perfumes that I have acquired. My boyfriend actually treated me to the Jimmy Choo one as he knew that I had been wanting it for a while. I have been wearing this a lot as the smell is fruity but also floral. I don't usually go for fruity smells but after getting Marc Jacobs daisy dream I loved the combination. The Jimmy Choo perfume is very light and I have been wearing it for a more day time scent.
The most recent purchase is a Zara perfume, this is me second one and I cant wait to pick up some more, I really like Zara scents as they last really well and they have such a vast selection. It has also been suggested that many of their fragrances are dupes for more expensive perfumes. The first one I brought a couple of months ago was 'Femme' which is a floral scent, but the one I more recently purchased is called 'Forget me not' and is in a beautiful baby blue bottle. This scent is more musky and mature.

OOTD

Thought I would do a different type of post! This is an outfit I wore on a sunny day, whilst I was out out on a girly trip shopping and for lunch!

Both the top and boots are new purchases and I couldn't wait to pair them together! The top is a bohemian style of the shoulder top from new look! I had seen Samantha Marie wearing one of these style tops from Zara a while ago and I loved how effortless and chic it looked! When I saw this on the Newlook website for £16 I had to have it! I do find that this 'bardot' style is slightly annoying when your moving around, as it doesn't always stay still! But I really like the look of it so I will put up with it!

I worse my usual black Ridley jeans from Asos rolled up at the bottom and tucked into these amazing tortoise shell block heel boots! I am in love with this boots and the heel height is perfect which makes them really wearable for everyday outfits.

My accessories were very plain and I had a smaller hand bag which I picked up in the Zara sale last summer for around £15! Because it was so sunny I took advantage of the rare occasion and wore some tortoise shell sunglasses, that have a slight cat-eye effect. These are from river island and I also picked these up last summer.

My makeup look was very simple I did my usual everyday base make-up and neutral brown smokey eye. my lipstick is a newer one from the Maybelline matte collection in the shade 'Nude embrace' which I have been really loving this month!

New Makeup Buys

I have been a bit addicted to buying Make-up recently. A few things have been repurchase of my holy grail products as well as some new products that I wanted to try.
Highlighting has become more and more popular. I prefer powder highlights over cream ones, I own Mac's Soft and Gentle  which I choose over Benefit High beam every time. I wanted to try out some different shades, so I was on the hunt for some new ones to try. When I saw that Sleek had brought out a new collection, I was intrigued especially when I saw a highlighter palette. The one I picked up is in the shade 'solstice' it has 3 powder shades and also a cream colour. All the shades are different with a pinky cream colour, a pale lilac, a yellow tone and copper colour. This palette is versatile as it can be used as a highlight and eye-shadows,I have used the cream colour as an eye-shadow a few times since owning this palette. Although  I will admit that I haven't really reached for it that much!

Another Highlighter that I picked up is one that I had my eye on for a while as its always being talked about. The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer is probably owned by every make-up addict. I finally decided to pick it up and the colour is a beautiful champagne colour! The texture is creamy and very pigmented its no wonder its so popular. Its very finely milled which makes it perfect for a natural finish as well as building it up heavy. Which as a lover of highlighters I definitely don't apply it light handedly.

Another make-up addiction of mine is false eyelashes which I am guilty of wearing almost every day of the week. For a very long time my favourite has been the Ardell Demi Wispies which are natural  looking. I have constantly been repurchasing these in bulk. I've tried cherry lashes in number 43 and many eyelure lashes. I recently stumbled across the brand Prima lash which have got a very similar style to the Demi Wispies. They are extremely similar with a natural fluttery finish, they look slightly thicker and fuller which would be great for a more dramatic look. Although I still prefer the Ardell lashes!

In terms of foundation I have been loving the Bourjois healthy mix in the shade 'light vanilla' it has great coverage as well as looking natural. I started running low and the thought was scary so I had to pick it up again! Another foundation which I have been trying out is 'one heck of a blot' by Soap and Glory which has a matte finish which was expected as its described as being a liquid to powder finish, I have it in the shade 'fair enough' which is slightly too dark  for my skin but with a lighter concealer or mixed with my Mac sculpt foundation the finish is flawless.
Another product I have repurchased is the Urban Decay all nighter make-up setting spray which after buying the travel size to try out I fell in love with, My make-up routine isn't complete without a couple of sprays of this. It makes a powder finish look dewy as well as helping my make-up last 'all night' as it claims.

The best part of this post is about lipsticks. I have been lusting over the Maybelline Matte colour sensational's for some time. In particular the shade 'Nude embrace' which in my opinion is the perfect nude shade. Its a brown tone nude with a matte finish. But it isn't too matte, that it dries out my lips. I have worn this so much in the last few weeks. Although, I found that if I ate anything or had a drink I would have to re-apply, which I didn't mind because I love the colour.  The second shade I picked up is 'Divine wine' which I thought could be a dupe for Diva as its a deep burgundy colour. The colour pay off is great, I haven't tested this shade in terms of its longevity but the buttery texture is appealing enough.

Another lipstick collection I couldn't wait to get my hand on was the Rosie for Autograph. The lush rose gold packaging was too tempting to give a miss. I picked up the shade 'Lady Rose' which is a muted rose shade as the name suggests. The creamy texture makes it very moisturising as well being very pigmented.

Finally I picked up some Rouge edition velvets from Bourjois after swatching them a few weeks ago and loving the shade 07. I watched one of Estee Lalonde's favourites videos where she talked about these lipsticks. The formula is very similar to the Rimmel laquers although the colour range of Bourjois is a lot better. The shade 07 'Nude-ist'  is a rosey brown shade which I have fallen in love with its a perfect winter nude although I also think it would look great with a tan. The other shade I picked up is shade 10 'Dont pink of it' which is a very natural muted pink. Both apply like a lip-gloss but dry matte, they feel really comfortable on the lips and not too drying, Both of these colours lasted very well on my lips although after eating I did have to top it up a little.

I definitely need to stop buying make-up especially lipsticks! Let me know what are your favourite Holy grail products!

Recent lipstick purchases.

I have been trying out lots of Drugstore lip products recently!
The first on my list to try were the L'oreal Collection star which I believe have been re packaged. I love both of these shades The colour 'Barely Greige' is a muted grey nude which leaves a slight colour. The second one is called 'Barely Moka' which is a dark brown. I prefer the lighter shade over the dark one as its a lot easier to apply as its a pale shade. Both lipsticks are very moisturising although the longevity is not great.
On the other hand the colour range is amazing and they have brought out lots of different shade ranges in the collection which are worth checking out.

Another brand I have been trying out is Revlon, the Ultra HD lipsticks caught my eye as the colours looked so pigmented when I swatched them. I had been on the hunt for a drug store alternative to 'Morange' that isn't so fluorescent. The one I went for is 'Marigold' and I do actually prefer it over the MAC lipstick. The other shade I picked up is called 'Dahlia' which is a deep red verging on burgundy. Its very similar to Rimmel 107 which is an favourite of mine. These lipsticks are super hydrating and pigmented, I find they last a lot longer than the L'oreal lipsticks.
Maybelline is another popular drugstore brand which I wanted to try. I have used their foundations and eyeshadows but never lip products. I picked up 2 lip polishes. which are a lip-gloss consistency. I picked up the shades 'Glam 1' and 'Glam 9' Glam 1 is a peachy nude colour similar to 'Creme cup' I havent really tried these out but I found both to be very sticky. Although I really like Glam 9 which is a pretty pink colour. I love the colours but the texture is just not wearable.
Some other lip-glosses I brought are from the Tanya Burr collection. I picked these up for a from a factory shop so they are the older collection with different packaging than ones you can pick up in superdrug. I prefer the consistency off these more than the Maybelline ones although the colour pay off is more shear. Therefore I have been using these with a lip-liner which I find works well. Out of the three colours I picked up: Vampire kiss, Afternoon Tea and Enchanted Forest I prefer afternoon tea which is a nude pink shade. The purple shade 'Enchanted Forest' isn't a colour I wear often which is perhaps why it is my least favourite out of the three.

Lipsticks are probaly my favourite thing to collect, I pushed the boat out a little by purchasing lip-glosses. The Revlon Ultra HD lipsticks in my opinion are worth buying and I am looking forward to a trip to boots to check out some other shades.
Thanks for Reading!
In order right to left: Barely Greige, Barely Moka, Dahlia, Marigold, Glam 1 Glam 9 Afternoon Tea, Vampire Kiss and Enchanted Forest.

An everyday make-up look

This is a look that I regularly go for whether I am just going to Sixth-Form or work. It may seem like a lot of make-up but I love the way it looks!
I started off with the Nivea post shave balm to moisturise! This is such a great moisturiser as is dries really quickly! Then I applied the Bourjois healthy mix foundation using an Real Techniques foundation brush. This foundation is incredible its has great coverage as well as having a dewy finish so it looks very natural. I didn't actually use concealer on this day as I highlighted my under eyes with the Anastasia Beverly Hills  kit as well as contouring with it. Another product I have been loving is the Maybelline master sculpt, its perfect for people with pale skin. I use this to set the cream product in the hollows of my cheeks using the real techniques duo fibre contour brush. I then set my face with the Rimmel stay matte powder using a Real Techniques powder brush. I love this powder as its applies very little colour and helps my make-up to last a lot longer.

Next I primed my eyelids using the Urban Decay primer potion which is a must have!! Using the Morphe travel set brushes I took a flat brush and placed 'Stark' from the Naked basics 2 all over my lid. Then using a fluffy brush from the same set I placed the colour 'Cover' in the crease and blended it up and out. Then using a Morphe pencil brush I deepened the crease with the colour 'Primal'
I have been loving these Eylure false lashes from the Girls Aloud range, they are very natural looking. I used duo lash glue which is my all time favourite, having tried the Eylure one and other cheaper brands I find that Duo glue is the most reliable and helps the false lashes stay on all day! Next I applied the L'oreal eyebrow pencil in blonde to my eyebrows which I had to darken with a brown from a Makeup Revolution palette as I have just recently dyed my hair darker!
To finish of the eyes I used a mini YSl Mascara Volume Effet Faul Cils mascara  to blend my real lashes into the false ones. I coated both my top lashes and lower ones, this mascara is brilliant for getting the lower lashes as it is a sample which means its slightly smaller.

Finally I used Mac's Honey love on my lips, this as a natural everyday lipstick as it doesn't require too much maintenance. I love wearing this with both a natural eye and also with a more dramatic make-up look.

My Favorite YouTubers.

For someone who loves fashion and beauty I am constantly on YouTube watching videos like 'get ready with me' or 'Collective Hauls' over the years my subscription box has grown as I have found more and more you tubers who keep me occupied.
One of the first people I found on YouTube was
Nicole Guerririo, I can sit and watch her make-up tutorials all day! Her make-up collection is incredible and she does amazing reviews on beauty. I remember when I first got a curling wand I watched all her hair tutorials for curly hair because I had no idea what I was doing! I loved her recent valentines day tutorials where she did a couple of different looks that were suitable for different lip colours, not just red!

Another channel I am subscribed to is Sarah Ashcroft or 'That Pommie girl' she is not as regular on you-tube as some people but I follow her on Instagram and twitter.  Her blog is beautifully laid out and her outfit posts are wearable. Her fashion sense although being high-end she always wears outfits that are by high-street brands like Topshop and Missguided. Her effortless style with bomber jackets jeans and heels look incredibly, her height and gorgeous long hair are to die for.

Gracie Francesca is a YouTuber who Is so inspirational, she post beauty, fashion, lifestyle as well as vlogs. She is very honest and her posts on mental health and body image are interesting and have made me think more positively about myself. I think with so many people in social media being what society classes as'skinny' its amazing to have someone who has such confidence speak up and be a positive role model! She really has me made me realize that no matter what size you are you are beautiful and for someone who has struggled to have come to the point in her life to be able to love herself its a real inspiration! She is so honest about her feelings and does not shy away from showing when she has anxiety and is down.

Hello October is a YouTuber who loves high end make-up and bags, She is someone who's fashion sense I find to be similar to mine. She dresses up simple pieces as well as making basics look elegant. I especially love watching her hauls as they also feature things that I would love to buy especially her picks from Asos. I love watching her 'get ready with me's' and seeing what make-up she is enjoying using! Her recent Chanel bag unboxing made me want a 'Boy' bag so bad, but being a student that isn't going to happen for a long time!

Samantha Maria or Beauty Crush is another You-tuber who I find an inspiration, I fell across her channel a while ago when looking for MAC lipstick reviews and ever since I have been watching her religiously! Her and Jason's vlogging channel is something which I love to watch! Jason, her finance created an beautiful engagement video that captured the moment perfectly. Sammi's style is incredible and her outfit posts so well written with beautiful pictures! A recent video she posted was on her new office/beauty room  it was so sylish and represented her style perfectly!

Todays Make-up look

Today I was going for a subtle smokey eye with some natural lashes. One thing I missed out in the picture above is the Nivea Post shave balm which i have been using religiously every time I wear makeup. It helps my makeup go on smoothly and also makes it last longer!

In order of how I apply my make-up I then put Mac Studio sculpt foundation  in NC15, I find this gives me a medium coverage but its very build able. I always wear this foundation on a night out and whenever I think that  I will be out for a long day! although it has SPF15 in so does cause some flashback. On this particular day I wore Mac prolongwear concealer in NC15 which is perfect for my skin as it is slightly lighter on top of my foundation so it lightens my under eye area. I just drew on my eyebrows with a L'oreal brow product which I religiously use!

After that I used the ABH cream contour palette using the lighter cool tone shade with a small foundation brush from the Morphe Brushes travel set. I put this in the hollows of my cheeks and then blended up slightly. Using the lightest highlight shade I used a larger foundation brush and put it under the contour.  I then set the highlighted areas with Rimmel pressed powder but not the contour areas as I did'nt want to darken it too much.

I then used the Urban Decay primer potion on my eyelids before putting a dark brown in my crease using another Morphe brush. Then using Suspect all over the lid with verve in the inner corner and on the lower lash-line. I then used a fluffy bending brush to just smoke the shadows out.
Afterwards I used my favourite holy grail liquid liner by The balm 'stay all day' on my upper lash line and of course created a wing, did it a bit thicker today. Not deliberately its just how it ended up happening. I've been loving using these Eylure lashes from the girls aloud range the ones by Kimberly in no 118. They are slightly darker and thicker at the end of the band but they still look very natural and wispy.
Following that I pretty covered my lashes in a new mascara I picked up by W7, I was intrigued as its packaging is very similar to the 'They're real' from Benefit. I will admit I find that it makes my lashes quite clumpy but with false lashes on it seems to disguise it.
Finally I finished the look off with MAC soft and gentle highlighter which is my favourite at the moment! I didn't feel like wearing lipstick on this day so my lips are looking very pale!

No social media please...

With social media being such a major part of people lives now days, its easy to forget that there are other things that don't involve the internet or phones! As a student sometimes its difficult to balance school work, my job, seeing friends and family. so you can imagine how difficult it is to actually sit down and do things for myself.

When I was younger I loved to do art and drawing, so when I chose my GSCE's I decided to do art which I do regret now because after having to fill folders and do a lot of art work I now cant get back into it. But there are many other things that I love to do and on those days were I have got a few hours too kill I love to just turn my phone off and do some of the following things!

Everyone loves music whether its live or just putting some on in your room. And yes I am one of those people who actually still buys CD's. Recently me and my boyfriend went to see The Kooks live which was a rare occasion as normally I just have loud music turned up in my room! Going to gigs or festivals are great experiences as you really interact with the people around you! Although I will admit that I had my phone out a few times during the gig just to capture the moment! I find that just turning on some music and doing my make-up or reading a magazine is so relaxing and generally puts me in a better mood!

Talking of make-up I find it very relaxing sitting at my dressing table trying out new make-up products! Recently I've been enjoying playing around with different colour eye shadows especially from the 32 colour eye-shadow palettes from make-up revolution.

Something which has become very popular is adult colouring books, I own a pattern one and also a Vogue Colouring book. As well as being therapeutic its so satisfying once you've finished a page! Also for someone who loves stationary its a good excuse to get my colouring pens out and let lose my inner child. The Vogue colouring book makes me feel a lot more adult especially with the beautiful illustrations of models.

A passion of mine is reading not only do I love reading books but I appreciate beautiful books that  are aesthetically pleasing as well as a good read. I'm the type of person who once I start reading a book I have to finish straight away and cant do anything until the book is completed. Reading a book is the perfect way to immerse yourself into something else other than your stressful or tiring life.
My favourite book of all time is The Great Gatsby but some other books like Alexa Chung's book and how to be Parisian are perfect for when you don't want to read anything to lengthy and you enjoy looking at pictures/photography. I love sitting on my bed and flicking through 'The little book of Chanel' which is full of illustrations and interesting information that yes you can find out online but having it in your hand in paper form is much more satisfying in my opinion.
I think its important to spend time just to yourself doing things that you enjoy. We can get so caught up in life rushing around that we forget the simple things in life that are relaxing and do not really involve our phones. I hope you enjoyed reading about some of the things that I enjoy doing in my spare time.

Casual Ootd

I thought I would try something different and post an outfit of the day. Recently I have been enjoying wearing shirts whether it be over a t-shirt, done up or over a dress.  This day I was just going to Sixth-form so I opted for black jeans from ASOS, a plain white t-shirt from Zara. I am in love with these t-shirt I pretty much have every colour that they have as they are so reasonable! I brought the flannel shirt from H&M before Christmas but have only just started to wear it more. It looks great layered over a basic top and black jeans for a casual look either with trainers or Chelsea boots which is what I wore on this particular day.

This coat was something I lusted over for a while, its a beautiful shade of blue which makes it stand out! the structured fit of it makes it look smart but its very wearable for everyday. The scarf is also another item that I am in love with and embarrassingly I pretty much wear it everyday when its cold. I brought this from Zara around the same time I purchased the blue coat, I love that its a massive square size it means you can wear it two different ways and also as a blanket.

Recent Make-up Purchases

Recently I have been feeling a bit spendy! I tend to go through phases of what I buy and for the last few months its definitely been make-up. A lot of things that I have picked up are not new releases but things that I have wanted to pick up for a while and just forgotten to!

Something which had blown up in the beauty world recently is the Nivea Men Post Shave Balm, when I heard that it was being used as a moisturiser/primer I was intrigued. For someone who tends to have dry skin I am always on the hunt for new products that are suitable for my skin type. I purchased it about 2 months ago from Superdrug when it was on offer for around £3.00! for something so cheap its definitely worth picking it up to try! I have pretty much used it religiously since I brought it! It makes my skin feel amazing and refreshed, I just put a little on and let it sink into my skin before I apply my foundation and it makes everything go on very smoothly.
Another new buy for me was the Maybeline instant Anti-Age rewind concealer, I have heard a lot of mixed reviews on this and since I was on the hunt for a cheaper alternative for my MAC pro-longwear concealer I decided to try it out. I have been trying it out for a few weeks and I can honestly say I am not that impressed, I picked it up in the shade 'light' but for me it Is not light enough, There seems to be a very limited shade range which for someone with pale skin Is not great. I also am not keen on the applicator, when I have been using it I have been putting it on my hand and then using a small foundation brush.

A concealer I have been loving is LA girls pro conceal, I got it in porcelain and it is perfect! very comparable to the pro-longwear. The colour range for this concealer is incredible and I have seen many Youtubers including Sarah Ashcroft using a darker shade for contouring! I think I will purchase a darker shade to do that as the product is a bargain as its under £5.00 I picked this up on Ebay as its not sold anywhere else in the UK.
I've definitely got a palette obsession, eye-shadow is definitely something which I love to buy. I had heard a lot about the Morphe palettes so when they released the 12 shade palettes on Beauty Bay I decided that the 12NB was something I needed to get hold of. This palette has lots of beautiful transition colours as well as neutral all over the lid shades. One of my favourite colours is the deep plum colour on the left side it looks beautiful put through the crease lightly with a pencil brush. All of the colours are so pigmented but are easily blended. I am very tempted to purchase a few more of their palettes as they are so pigmented and easily to work with.

Another palette I recently picked up is the Makeup Revolution powder contour palette. I brought it to use with my ABH cream contour palette to set the cream product. The Makeup revolution powder looks very similar to the ABH powder palette except with two highlighter shades. The middle dark shade is probably the colour that I use the most as its perfect for setting the contour. I am also in love with the two highlighter shades especially the silvery one. Makeup revolution recently brought out a cream version so if your looking for dupes for the ABH palettes definitely check this brand out as they are very affordable.
When I saw that Benefit were selling mini versions of a lot of their products in Boots I was so excited, I was desperate to try out the High beam highlighter and it was only £5,00 which I think is great! I love to use this when I am wearing a matte foundation especially on a night out! I have not used it a lot but every time I have the finish has been beautiful! its very pigmented and in my opinion a little goes a along way. I definitely think its worth picking up if you want to try it but don't want to purchase the full size product.

Finally I picked up another Maybelline colour tattoo, this is my third one and definitely my favourite. I find this one is a lot creamier than the other two I own (Permanent Taupe, On and on Bronze) but perhaps its because they've dried out. this looks beautiful all over the lid and just blended out or as a base for glittery eye-shadows or pigments. This will look beautiful in the spring with a pinky nude lip, but that isn't not going to stop me from using it in the meantime.
Thanks for reading, Don't forget to follow me on Bloglovin and my other social media to get updates when I put up new post!

Wardrobe Staples (things you need)

Everyone has key pieces in their wardrobe, here are some of mine!
Black boots, no matter what your wearing they will go with your outfit. Black Chelsea boots are a must but who said you have to stop there? fringing has been a big trend this year so I had to get my hands on some tassel boots! obviously black ones as I am a women of very little colour. I like to have simple shoes that make a statement. My favourites have to be the suede Chelsea boots which I purchased from Public Desire in October, I literally cant get enough of these shoes. They are so comfy, they were not to start with but once I wore them in I haven't wanted to take them off since. Another pair which I adore are from Missguided and have a statement block heel. These are part of another trend which stemmed from Dior's perspex boots.  I must admit they are something which I just wanted I very rarely wear them as the pointed toe is a bit uncomfortable and the heel is a little to high for me to cope with. They're definitely one of them pairs of boots which are for occasions were there is very little walking involved and preferably a taxi.
Other must haves include polo neck/turtle neck tops or jumpers, they look amazing with sleeveless jackets and they are great layering pieces for both autumn and winter. There are so many variations whether its in the form of a jersey top or a chunky knitted dress.
My addiction is definitely stripes, I love striped dresses, jumpers, tops everything! one place that I love to buy basic stripe tops from is Zara they always have so many variations! Like this one  which is perfect for throwing on over a leather skirt or jeans paired with a red lipstick for that French/Parisian style.
I recently purchased this top/dress from Topshop which I have been wearing as both a dress with thick tights and also as a long top with a fur jacket.

Another important item that definitely makes it as a wardrobe must have is oversized scarf's, they are more of a necessity during the colder months. Whether your wearing it as a scarf or wrapping your self in it as a blanket! they also can make a good umbrella to protect your hair from the rain. One place I think do amazing scarves is Zara which is were I got my black and white checked one.

Something which is definitely necessary is a good pair of staple black jeans, I get mine from Asos as I find them to be the comfiest and most flattering for my body! I always buy the same ones and they are the Asos own jeans called 'Ridley' they are high waisted and you can get them in both ankle grazer and petite which is perfect for someone like me who is only 5 ft 2. I would say they are comparable to the Topshop Jamie jeans but in my opinion they are a lot softer.
A pair of nude heels are essential, I must admit that as a student I don't very often get the chance to wear heels other than meals or special occasions. But I adore these ones which I purchased from Asos in the summer for a wedding. I have worn them so much, they fit like a glove and although to begin with they were painful they are now very comfy. They are still available on the website I would strongly suggest everyone buying them,  you can buy them here. I have worn them with black jeans and a lacy top for a meal and I also managed a night clubbing in these. Investing in a good pair of heels is a MUST and if they happen to be pointed then you definitely  need them in your life. Some that are also very similar are these from Topshop which although are a little more pricey they are gorgeous and I have seen Topshop bring out different colour variations of these each season.

Finally a floppy hat and sunglasses are definitely necessary as both can save you from a bad hair day as well as save you from the sun in the summer. I picked this hat up from Topshop its quite a large floppy hat which makes it a pain in terms of carrying around. Fedoras have become increasingly popular and are perhaps more versatile in terms of what seasons they can be worn! I've got a grey one on my wishlist which is also from Topshop.
My favourite pair of sunglasses are from river island, I prefer cat eye ones as they are more flattering on my face! If I am being honest I have re purchased them a few times because I managed to break them which does indicate that they're not sturdy but they were under £15,00 so I didn't mind buying them again. The tortoise shell pattern makes them a lot more subtle as oppose to a black frame as well as adding more detail.

These are some of my all time favourite pieces that I love in my wardrobe and that I feel are must haves. Of course there are lots of other things that you may class as essentials but in my opinion these things fall under the category of being staple pieces.
Thank you for reading!

February 2016 Wishlist

How to style Sleeveless jackets

A recent trend has been sleeveless jackets and coats which have blown up on the highstreet. In spring/summer the thinner material was appropriate and I myself purchased a jersey material jacket from Topshop. But as the weather got cooler the Fur gilets became increasing more popular and therefore easier to get hold off. My favourites sleeveless jackets were from Topshop but you can get hold of them from places like Boohoo and Asos. Asos in particular is a good site to look at as it has lots of different brands like New Look and now Missguided is also on there!

Sleeveless Jackets are great transitional pieces especially when summer ends and the weather starts getting cooler. They are easy to layer with and you have so many options. I loved this pink Zara jumper with the grey jacket for the cooler summer evenings. But you could also wear it with a 3/4 length t-shirt or top on days were its still sunny and warm.
Wearing a casual dress with a sleeveless jacket makes it look a lot more put together especially if paired with some Chelsea boots or even knee high boots! Converse also look great with this look if you want to go for an everyday casual look.

Fur Gilets are a staple item in my wardrobe now, I am obsessed I firstly brought a black one from Topshop and then asked for the same in grey for Christmas. I find them very versatile and like the sleeveless jackets they are very easy to layer depending on the weather. Its very unlikely that a fur gilet will come in handy in the summer.Although in the UK the weather isn't particularly warm even in the summer months.

Recently I have enjoyed wearing Long sleeved dresses with a fur gilet on top, especially striped ones. I have a lot of love for stripes so it was inevitable that stripes and fur would become a go to look for me. Stripey jumpers, stripey tops, stripey dresses all of them I think look great with Fur.
Another trend I have been enjoying is polo neck tops and jumpers which I also think looks great with sleeveless jackets and coats.
I must admit my grey fur gilet is probably one of my favourite things in my wardrobe currently and a week wont go by without me having worn it at least once. I do not think its available on the Topshop site any more but if you search around you can probably find one similar. They are definitely worth spending money on as they are such a versatile piece.
I hope you enjoyed looking at some of the ways I have been styling sleeveless jackets!

MAC Lipstick Collection

MAC Lipstick Collection 2016

I started off with one MAC lipstick which I brought myself for my High-school Prom but now I own 9. I'm very happy with my little collection and although there are many other shades I could buy, I feel it would be unnecessary! Just a heads up I am not really one to go for a lot of colour which means the majority of my collection are nude shades.
The first one I brought was All Fired Up which is a Retro Matte. At the time I knew very little about lipstick formulas but I remember asking one of the girls in my local MAC for one that would last a long time and was a fuchsia pink.  All fired up is described as 'Bright fuchsia matte' which made it perfect for the occasion. I admit I had not really done  much research and having had this lipstick for 3 years I would say I wear it very little due to how drying it is on the lips.

Secondly is Creme Cup which is the formula cremesheen which In my opinion is a beautiful pinky nude which for everyday wear is perfect. On the website its described as being a 'light blue pink' which I agree it has a blue undertone which looks great on cool toned skin. the longevity of this lipstick isn't great but its one of those lipsticks that does not take long to reapply due to it being fairly sheer.

One of my favourites out of my collection is Ruby Woo which is also a retro matte which is described as being 'very matte vivid blue-red'. this is a lipstick that I always reach for even to layer with a more glossy lipstick or lip-gloss. I find it very wearable as its got good lasting power due to it being a matte. The blue tones in this lipstick works perfectly with my pale skin, putting Vaseline on before helps with the dryness but then I find makes it difficult to apply.

Next is Twig a colour that I had an obsession with through all of 2015, its a 'soft muted Brownish-pink', in the formula Satin. This formula in my opinion is the best, whilst being pigmented it is creamy and has a semi matte finish without it being too dry. Its brownish undertones makes it very autumnal. I like to pair this with Double time lip-liner which is also from MAC just to add to its longevity and create a neat line.

A lustre finish that I own from MAC is 'Plumful' it is described as being a 'Blossoming rose-plum' colour. the sheer formula of this lipstick means that when you have to constantly re apply. In my opinion I prefer the satin finish or the amplified over lustre due to they're longevity. I brought Plumful in the winter as an alternative to the purple lipstick trend that was going on in 2015, its a beautiful colour but due to its finish I find I don't reach for it very often.

My only limited edition lipstick that I own is from the Cinderella collection which came out at the beginning of 2015. Its called 'Royal ball' and is also a lustre finish. The sheer pink colour is perfect to wear over a lip-liner for an everyday look. The packaging and the fact that it was Cinderella themed was the reason I brought it,  the pale blue colour with gold details is so pretty. This lipstick is more for show than a purpose, I very rarely wear this as it is very pale and sheer.

More recent additions to my collection include; Honey love, Velvet teddy and Morange. Honey love is a matte finish and is described as being 'light beige toned with rose' this colour is perfect for everyday but I often wear it with a dark smokey eye on a night out. Its long wearing which makes it perfect for special occasions. Honey love is very similar to velvet teddy but slightly more muted.

Velvet teddy is also a matte but i find it to be alot creamier than Honey love. This lipstick was so hard to get a hold of for a while but it was worth the wait.
Its described as being a 'deep toned beige' and I find myself using this quite frequently. I originally fell in love with Twig which is very similar but darker but velvet teddy is a close favourite.

The newest edition to my collection is Morange which I probably should have waited until summer to get but I had been lusting after it for a while. This beautiful orange lipstick I have often heard Zoe Sugg talk about and it looks so good on her. The formula is Amplified (on the website it says its an Amplified Creme) and its a very pigmented colour with a creamy finish. It is described as being a 'loudmouth orange' which fits it perfectly. This would look perfect with minimal makeup but also with a grey toned smokey eye.

I think that buying Mac lipsticks is addictive and its not very often that a beauty blogger only has one! The Vanilla scent as well as the sleek black packaging makes them even more appealing, although there are always dupes  that are equally as good.

The swatches bellow are in order of how i talked about them. Starting from the top; All fired up, Ruby Woo, Creme cup, Plumful, Twig, Royal Ball, Honey love, Velvet Teddy and Morange.
